Overview
Abby advises employers, plan sponsors, and fiduciaries on a broad spectrum of employee benefits and health and welfare plan issues. Her practice encompasses Mental Health Parity (MHPAEA) compliance, Title VII nondiscrimination matters, HIPAA privacy and security, and health care reform requirements under the ACA . Abby regularly works with self-insured and multiemployer health plans on plan administration, fiduciary governance, beneficiary and claims matters, subrogation, and withdrawal liability issues. She also assists clients with drafting and updating plan documents, SPDs, and amendments, for consistency with ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, and current regulatory guidance. When she’s not delving into the wonderful world of ERISA, Abby loves Pilates, spending time with her cats, reading books, watching hockey, and visiting family.
